Amazon has now allowed T-Mobile customers to connect their mobile numbers to make or receive hands-free WiFi calls using Alexa-enabled devices such as Echo Dot or Echo Show. This is two years since the online retailer teamed with AT&T to provide similar functionality.
Customers will have to activate their T-Mobile account with Alexa Skills by visiting the Alexa Skills store and linking their phone numbers to start. Once the set-up is complete users can say “Alexa, call John,” or “Alexa, dial to initiate a call. If they get a phone call, they can choose to say, “Alexa, answer the call,” or “Alexa, dismiss the call.” The users can also dial 911 emergency services via Alexa using the command “Alexa, call 911.”

After setup, calls will be accessible on all devices that are Alexa-enabled and linked to the account. To disable calling on any of them, go to More>Settings>Communication in the alexa app, then tap on T-Mobile and unselect devices under the “Allow calling on” section.
With this brand-new Alexa Skill, you’ll have the option of integrating your mobile number to Alexa across the three major network providers across the U.S.: T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon. This feature gives you more options and lets you stay connected with your family and friends that matter the most, at any time you’d like, wherever you happen to be,” Amazon said in an article on its blog.
