Apple launched its first beta for developers for the iOS 16.4 on Thursday. While the update is targeted at only a few users, the iPhone maker gave us a preview of features we can anticipate as the final version of iOS 16.4 is being seeded. The new features include new emojis, a revamped podcasts app and notification capabilities for web-based apps.

Emojis are very important and we’re now receiving 31 of them on iOS 16.4. The initial draft of these emojis — which included the moose, an emoji of a goose with a pink heart, as well as “I am shook” — was made available earlier this year. The emojis are now available, thanks to Apple’s most recent software update the emojis will be coming soon to iOS devices. Since Thursday’s update is a beta for developers it is possible that there will be some design changes to the emojis when they are released in the final version.

Apple’s Podcasts app has also been updated with new features with the iOS 16.4 update. If you’ve subscribed to channels using Podcasts, these channels will be added to a newly created “Channels” section in your library. With iOS 16.4 the users can to re-watch shows on moving trips by accessing the browse section from CarPlay mode. App updates will be made available with Podcasts’ iPad and macOS apps in the upcoming iPadOS 16.4 as well as macOS 13.3 updates.

In the Up Next queue in the Podcasts app will show unfinished show episodes , even if you do not follow the particular show. To get them removed from the queue, you must manually remove them from the queue or mark them as being played.
