As people all across the World have gone under lock-down, there’s been a pointy surge in users of video conferencing apps like Zoom, Whats App, Google Duo, et al. Now, to form it even less difficult for users to attach to their loved ones and friends, WhatsApp is functioning towards allowing more users to participate during a group call. Currently, you’ll only have a complete of 4 users directly .
As WhatsApp’s latest Android beta v2.20.128 beta suggests that video group limit will likely be increased within the future. This new change was hinted by new strings spotted in beta. However, the new Group Call Limit isn’t available yet and is under development to form it bug free.
Users can find the update on Play Store when Google rolls out the feature for them which can probably be done consistent with WhatsApp preferences. There isn’t any information yet around when WhatsApp plans on releasing this feature or what percentage people it might allow to be added to a gaggle call with an increased group limit.
Google Duo recently announced that it’s increased the participation limit for its group calls by adding support for 12 person group calling for its users. The announcement around call support was made by Sanaz Ahari, Sr. Director of Product and style at Google, on Twitter. She wrote that group calling is especially critical amid the COVID-19 pandemic which is why they increased the limit from 8 users to 12 users
