Google has made it simpler to stream content from Apple Podcasts and other sources when you search for podcasts on Google Search. After closing the feature that allowed users to play podcasts directly through the results of searches, Google announced that it would “gradually” switch to a brand new look that will provide more details about podcasts and hyperlinks to listen on different platforms using the search results. The new design is now in the process of being released, we’ve been told.
If people are searching for podcasts with generic phrases like “kids podcasts” or “movie podcasts” on the iPhone or iPad and iPad, they’ll find the option to “Listen to Apple Podcasts,” Apple said to us. The feature is currently only accessible to Google Search users in the U.S.
In our tests of the new features, looking for “comedy podcasts” we discovered a box at the very top of the results, which showed a wide range of well-known podcasts. Apart from having the ability to filter results for items such as “stand-up comedy” or “TV” in addition to other things it is possible to use the filter button to limit the search results to podcasts that are available on the Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or Google Podcasts.
