The continuous race to improve generative AI technology is affecting digital assistants which is one of many people’s first encounters with the concept of an AI companion.
It’s the same with Google which is currently making changes to its Assistant, which will incorporate artificial intelligence that is generative, according to the internal emails that were obtained by Axios.
Google Assistant’s Vice President Peeyush Ranjan, as well as the product director, Duke Dukellis, explained their reasoning to employees explaining: “As a team, we need to focus on delivering high-quality, critical product experiences for our users.

In the email, it was said that Google is working on this with mobiles. There’s no timeframe as to when Google will incorporate the technology in its intelligence home appliances or at all the specifics of what these new updates will appear like. Google could use Bard the company’s AI chatbot, to communicate with users of Assistant or even experiment with something completely new.
What Google staff are engaged in, it’s causing some internal change, for example, merging both the Surfaces and Services teams into one. Google is also cutting the “small” number of employees but hasn’t disclosed the precise amount.
