What is Error 83 on Disney Plus?
If you see the Disney Plus error code 83 when you try to sign into the service, it could mean one of two things is wrong. One is an internet issue, and the other hardware problems.
issue 1 – Internet connection issue
- It’s possible that Disney Plus itself is getting hammered with too many signups at once. This indeed happened during the 2019 launch date for the service. If that’s indeed the case, there’s not a lot you can do about it until its servers can handle the signup load once again.
- If you feel the issue is not due to too much internet traffic, it’s possible your local ISP is having issues of its own.
Issue 2 – Device compatibility issue
The second reason you might see the Disney Plus error code 83 is due to some kind of issue with the device you are using sign up to the service.
If your device is indeed compatible, but you see the Error 83 message, there are a few other things you can do:
- First, you can just turn your device off and turn it back on again.
- It’s also possible that updating your device’s firmware can solve your issue.
- If you are logging into Disney Plus on a PC desktop or laptop, you could encounter the Error 83 message when you first sign up via a web browser. You might get a message asking you to verify that the PC can play back protected content. If you click the “Allow” option, it’s possible the Error 83 message might appear. If that does happen, just click on the “Dismiss” option and try again to watch a Disney Plus video.
- Disney Plus officially only supports PC web browsers for Windows and Mac, including Chrome, Microsoft Explorer and Edge, Firefox and Apple Safari. If you have a smart TV or set-top and try to use a web browser on those devices, you will likely get an Error 83.
- You will need to find a compatible Disney Plus app for those devices, if they are available.
- If you are using a mobile device, set-top box or smart TV, make sure the Disney Plus app is up to date with the latest version.
