According to 9to5Google reports, a new feature has been added to the most recent GBoard beta. While it is currently inactive, however, it can be accessed via the GBoard’s overflow button within Settings. Interestingly, Google recently added customization options for the menu, which allows users to alter its contents. This makes it possible for the feature to be easier to access. It is crucial to keep in mind that the final version of the feature could be different, resulting in greater user-friendliness and accessibility.
The feature’s functionality is similar to that of its counterpart “Control+Z” or “Command+Z” command used in the desktop OS. In essence, it offers users an undo option, allowing users to reverse actions and retrieve deleted texts from fields of text. A video demonstration showed users effortlessly recovering deleted text by selecting”Undo. “Undo” button from the overflow menu. Keep in mind that the implementation finalized of this feature may differ which could lead to further improvements in accessibility and usability.

According to the reports of 9to5Google, Google is planning to roll out this feature across all platforms which will make it compatible with a variety of types of inputs for text when using the GBoard keyboard. If it’s a bar for searching or a third-party app in the event that GBoard is used to be the primary keyboard this feature will be accessible to use.
Although the launch of an “Undo” button on GBoard is relatively recent, the idea of undoing an action isn’t something new for Google. Google has already incorporated redo and undo buttons into several applications, including their Workspace applications, such as the note-taking app Keep.
