The latest desktop app supports video calls of up to eight people as well as audio calls that can be made with up to 32 participants as well as the mobile application. The company has said that it will increase the number of participants that can be included in group calls in the future.

WhatsApp is focusing on improving the user experience for desktop users since it first announced multi-device connection that lets users connect to one account on multiple devices.

The company released an updated Mac client that was released to the public beta that offered performance enhancements for Apple Silicone-based platforms. The Meta-owned messaging service is testing an updated version designed specifically for Android tablet devices.

This month, WhatsApp has also revealed two new features for groups. The first feature allows group administrators to scan the requests to join their groups from”Pending Participants” under the “Pending Members” section. The second one lets users see shared groups on results of searches when searching for names. In the past, you needed go to the contact’s profile in order to see the most popular groups.
